This is the third and current Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool. The first was built in 1826 by converting two houses from the 1700s. It’s also on the site of Ranelagh Gardens, which was the first recreational public space (although you had to pay admittance) in Liverpool. The Gardens continued until the 1790s. The second hotel was built in 1876 and lasted until 1911 when work started on the third.
